Plans, Lodging and What's New

Wedding Plans and Guest Lodging

The ceremony will take place Sunday, September 1st around 12:00 pm. The wedding will be beachfront at a home on St. Augustine Beach. Afterwards a reception for closest friends and family will be held in town. Later, everyone is invited to attend an evening party at the beach house.

We have reserved the wedding beach house for the entire week (August 30th - September 6). We hope to spend this time with our friends and family - especially those who have traveled so far.

A house, just two doors over, has been reserved for the Maid of Honor and bridesmaids during the weekend of the wedding. The bride will join them the evening before the wedding.

Lodging reservations, for those booking their own accomodations, should be made early - as this is a popular holiday weekend. We have provided information on a couple of hotels with the postcards that were mailed. You can also go directly to the hotel by clicking on the photo of the "Days Inn" or the "Hampton Inn" that appear at the bottom of the photo page. Both of these hotels are within walking distance of the wedding ceremony location. Some additional information has been sent to those of you who are traveling in from other countries.
Parking is difficult in St. Augustine and walking is required. Knowing this, we are arranging transportation for everyone from the wedding to the reception. Return transportation will get you back in plenty of time for the evening pool party.
St. Augustine is abundant with places to stay in every setting and price range. It is known for its many Bed & Breakfast Inns. The only warning to you concerns parking - it is very limited throughout the city and around the beaches. There is no parking permitted on Eleventh street. Please access available parking at the public lots located a few blocks to the South and a few blocks to the North of Eleventh St.

Travel Information
Many will be traveling from abroad. The closest airport to St. Augustine is Jacksonville. There are usually great fares for those who can come into Sanford-Orlando International Airport - it is about ten minutes from where we live and a couple of hours from St. Augustine. The second closest airport is Orlando International Airport and it is the nearest to Disney and the attractions - about 2.5 - 3 hours from St. Augustine. All will need to make car transportation arrangements.

For the wedding party, we will need to be in St. Augustine beginning Friday - the wedding rehearsal will be held on Saturday afternoon.
